Participants will learn Orton-Gillingham’s multi-sensory teaching methodology specifically designed for upper elementary or older students who require foundational reading skills and continue to struggle in literacy development.

Hill Learning Center:
HillRAP (Tier 3)

Participants will learn a research-based, individualized, structured approach to improving reading for students who are struggling including how to use an ongoing formative assessment cycle that enables a student to track progress on a daily basis.

CAST

Participants will learn the research basis for Universal Design for Learning (UDL), practical applications of UDL to lesson design, and helpful technology tools that support flexible, inclusive instruction.

Special Education Teachers, General Education Teaches

Earn a CAST certificate and microcredential in Universal Design for Learning

Supporting Students with Low Incidence

Participants will learn how to maximize classroom set-up and scheduling, develop a scope and sequence using LEAP Connect standards, implement progress monitoring systems and data analysis, and more.

Target Audience: Self-Contained Special Education Teachers

Training: Six three-hour sessions and bi-monthly coaching meetings

Hill Learning Center: Foundations of Literacy

Participants will learn how to provide effective reading instruction in the five key areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and text comprehension.

Target Audience
Reading Interventionists, Special Education Teachers, General Education Teachers

Participant Outcomes
Earn five microcredentials, one for each key area of reading

Supporting Students with Emotional Disturbance Using Trauma-Informed Practices

Participants will learn how trauma manifests in students and apply a trauma-informed framework for classroom interventions and student assessment.

Target Audience: Special Education Teachers

Training: Six three-hour sessions and bi-monthly coaching meetings
