Deputy Chief of Specialized Services at Mastery

Elizabeth Farruggia was a general education and special education teacher in California public schools for 12 years.  When she relocated to Philadelphia, Elizabeth was hired as Mastery’s first Assistant School Leader – a yearlong Assistant Principal / Principal training Program.  After her ASL year, she was the founding Assistant Principal of Specialized Services for Mastery Charter Mann Elementary – a turnaround School in Philadelphia.  Elizabeth stayed at Mann for three years, and then became the Director of Specialized Services for the Mastery network.  For the last 4 years she has been the Deputy Chief of Specialized Services at Mastery.  Mastery specializes in turning around failing neighborhood public schools throughout Philadelphia and Camden.  Mastery schools currently serve 14,000 students, and around 4000 students with disabilities.
